Overview

When one googles the the name Kramer, the search tab usually yields either the German defensive mid-field football player or Seinfeld's neighbour. However, Mt Albert has a new reason to have the name turn up on a search engine. Kramer is actually a common and traditional German surname meaning 'merchants trading with different, rather small things.' A perfect synopsis for this little gem.

It wasn't hard to find a seat in this still relatively undiscovered cafe. The menu is small, but although limited, it allows you to do some cool things - like building your own version of an eggs benny and other traditional brunch favourites.

The food's quality presentation and preparation really stood out. I ordered my own version of an eggs benny, which had nice amounts of spinach, perfectly poached eggs, plenty of salad and dressings circulating the dish in a way that suggested a serious food experience. We were more than content with our time at Kramer and as we went to pay we discovered a treasure trove of imported German chocolates, finally delivering connection to that clever German name. We left Kramer with a nice spread of various miniature desserts and a fresh release of endorphins.
