Overview

Freeman & Grey's very first involvement in New Zealand Music Month is underway and will be inaugurated with a serious lineup of artists. The Upstairs At Freeman, presented by Jameson's series kicks off,  which is sure to establish itself as the place to be in Ponsonby this May.

A member of one of the most musically-talented families in New Zealand, Laughton Kora will hit the stage to jam out his one man show, as his new solo project. The former front man, vocalist and guitarist of New Zealand reggae band Kora is set to showcase his vocal ability with support from his trusty loop pedals.

All the way from the Gisborne, Jack Castle, known as Haki, will be performing his very own tracks live. The singer/songwriter's  sounds encompass reggae flavours with a touch of soul and rock. A live performance of the accomplished part-time hunter-gatherer can be witnessed here.

Ponsonby's favourite Australian and George FM DJ, Dan Aux rounds out the first evenings line-up, just as he is preparing to release his own album, 'The Playlist', in August later this year. Dan strives to deliver an upbeat, entertaining and genre-bending mix of all your favourite dance tracks. He has the nous to balance that musical curiosity with an acute sense for his listenership's taste.

Be sure to check out the remainder of this series for the rest of the month and remember to grab your free Jameson's on entry (if you purchase the presale ticket of $10).
