Overview

Artists from around the country are joining forces to bring you the best of homegrown comic art and illustration at Chromacon; a celebration of the art of visual story telling.

Chromacon is a non-profit, community focused event which aims to provide local comic artists and illustrators an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work. You'll recognise names like Dylan Horrocks and Ant Sang, our award-winning comic artists. There are also illustrators and concept artists like Paul Tobin, Nick Keller, Tim Gibson from Weta Workshop and Tom Robinson from Sidhe, our largest video game studio.

With around 70 participating artists showcasing work in range of mediums, styles, and genres, Chromacon is set to be a visual feast. It's an event where art makers and art lovers can connect, whether you're there to meet those you already admire, or are looking for something fresh and new. On display and for sale will be art books and comics, as well as original artworks and prints.

You'll have the chance to talk to the artists and learn hot tips through workshops, live drawing and painting demos and presentations on a variety of subjects throughout the day. Chromacon is a one of a kind event and the best place to see New Zealand's finest graphic art.
