Overview

The fifth installment of Laneway NZ will be held for its third year (before moving yonder) beside some silos and neighbouring super yachts along Auckland’s waterfront this Auckland Anniversary Weekend (Monday 27 January).

Birthed in the laneways of Melbourne, the predominantely ‘indie’ festival made its way across the Tasman in 2004 and has been making its way around Auckland venues ever since.

Acts due to take the stage at Silo Park in Wynyard Quarter include sister-trio Haim, US rapper Danny Brown, Odd Future member Earl Sweatshirt, Brooklyn punk band Parquet Courts, Australian 'Madchester' duo Jagwar Ma, indie-folk songwriter Kurt Vile, plus the late additions of Australian electronic duo The Presets and American singer/songwriter Cat Power, who replace the previously billed James Blake.

Local acts include Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Watercolours, Ghost Wave, PCP Eagles and more. Lorde will still make an appearance two days later on (January 29, 2014) after a conflict with this year's Grammy Awards. The concert will be free to Laneway ticket holders and $69 for everyone else.
