Overview

After putting off two shows in New Zealand last April, Jurassic 5 founding member Chali 2na will return with his band the House of Vibe, but this time for four shows across the country.

It’s been a busy year for the baritone rapper. Since selling out a reunion tour with harmonious rap collective Jurassic 5, 2na has been on the road supporting the release of his solo EP Manphibian Music - the second in a series of five EPs under the banner ‘Against The Current’. Over the project he aims to explore the genres and influences around his career as an MC, including the music he grew up on and the work he’s produced.

As well as being a founding member of J5 and activist salsa funk band Ozomatli, he has chalked up collaborations with Hilltop Hoods, Black Eyed Peas, Linkin Park, Damien & Stephen Marley and Mos Def. He also takes his stage name from a deep-voiced animated mascot of a Korean fish company, named Charlie The Tuna.
