Overview

So you’re a total play buff but are feeling a little disillusioned with the same old masterfully delivered lines, polished plots and well-dressed ushers that are just too damn polite?

Well, I can’t help you with that last one. But if you’re looking to inject a little chaos into your theatrical entertainment, lock down some tickets to the Town Centre’s Lies, showing for two weeks this September. Touted as a genre-defying, anarchic and party-fuelled hour in which four performers lie, cheat and run gleefully into the face of failure, Lies builds on the cult of deconstructionist theatre that the Town Centre is known and loved for.

If you’re a sucker for building things up just to smash them down, it’s a high possibility you’ll dig this show that can be described as just about anything except traditional, creating a deliberately unstable world of discord that breaks every rule in theatre. Sounds fun, right?

Lies is showing at the Basement Theatre from 6 – 13 September.
