Overview

The historic Corban Estate Arts Centre will be hosting the ever-popular Waitakere Festival, a daily outing celebrating the creative and social facets of West Auckland.

Music will be in the air as the main stage plays host to a range of local musicians including - Sal Valentine & The Babyshakes, Arthur Ahbez, Ha the Unclear, Mice on Stilts and Ophelia; a vibrant local marketplace will be on-site, stocking everything from upcycled fashion to art and quirky collectables; some of Auckland's most delicious street food vendors will park up to accompany local brews in the open-air Garden Bar, and The Keep Waitakere Beautiful Action Hub will be in full force - aiming to do exactly what their name says.

New to the festival in 2014 is The Community Zone, showcasing what's great about life out West. It will include community activities and information including acoustic musicians, spoken word performers, dance and gymnastics groups, live artworks, community groups sharing advice, face painting, henna artists and more.
