Overview

Don't you wish you could sew? Casually whip up some cushion covers on a lazy Sunday afternoon? No dress to wear to a wedding in the weekend? No problem! Grab a pattern, some snazzy fabric, sharp shears and pull together a stunner. There is freedom in the ability to make things yourself. Artweek Auckland 2014 gives you the opportunity to unleash your crafty potential with the Textile Jewellery Making workshop. The two hour session will see you put together fabric cut-off, beads and tidbits into wearable pieces of art.

The workshop is lead by Sew Love Tea Do’s Sarah Lancaster, a lady passionate about bringing sewing skills and a message of sustainability to the masses. She has recently opened the Sew Love sewing lounge in St Kevin's Arcade, K-Road—a space to learn skills, chat and connect with fellow crafters. There is an array or workshops and classes on offer for all skill levels. The Textile Jewellery workshop is free, but spaces are extremely limited to 10 spots, making bookings essential. Go on, why not give it a try? Christmas time is on the horizon and perhaps you'll discover some clever hand-made gift ideas for your loved ones.
