Charlie Brown, the Australian fashion designer known for her beautiful cocktail dresses, evening dresses and bridal wear, will be showing for the first time at New Zealand Fashion Week this year. She is the first designer to be announced on the 2012 NZFW schedule and adds an exciting international flavour to the anticipated list of participating designers.
“Charlie Brown is well known on these shores and with a strong, glamorous following in New Zealand, is a very welcome addition to what is shaping up to be another exciting event,” says Managing Director Pieter Stewart.
With a retail presence via her own boutique in Auckland’s Newmarket, and through leading department stores, Kirkcaldie and Staines and Smith and Caughey, Charlie Brown has established fashion credentials in New Zealand.
"Since opening my Charlie Brown Auckland store in August 2011, I have been overwhelmed with the interest in my fashions from New Zealanders and it seems so natural to now be participating in New Zealand's premium fashion event," says Brown.

The latest instalment to Egoist’s coveted street wear collection is a selection of trans-seasonal footwear designs, now available in the Egoist Ponsonby store and online.
With the dull atmosphere of winter dominating the streets, Egoist’s collection of superstar shoe styles, embodying their leading edge in casual menswear fashion are certain to add a kick to even the most conservative dresser’s wardrobe.
The new collection consists of several different styles from the green buck boots to the shining silver space boots, priced to support the ‘affordable style’ philosophy Egoist are fast becoming renowned for. Embellished with studs and rivets, the Egoist shoe collection takes inspiration from traditional building sites with simple colours such as black and white. Incorporating binging details, these new styles race aspects of a tradesman’s life into the smart casual dress scene.
Season eleven for Salasai represents a renewed spirit of colour, proportion and construction. The collection focuses on modern minimalism, re-enforced by newly developed shapes.
Highlighting botanical references in a typically subversive manner, the collection features an exclusively designed print of magnified florals on black linen and silk button-up, pleated, drop-waist dresses, languid crepe de chine pieces and clean-cut overalls for both sexes.
Check out Salasai's spring/summer video, directed by Claire Littler & styled by Dan Ahwa.
