Overview

So, I had an awakening. A total food awakening the moment I stepped into the Little Bird Unbakery. I have always been a bit critical (read disdainful) towards any food that falls under the 'raw vegan' category. Though I am a vegetarian I am the kind that definitely likes her food served with cheese and cooked. However, I have recently been converted and what a beautiful conversion it was.

Using the finest organic raw ingredients the chefs at Little Bird made treats that were exciting, tasty and completely guilt-free. I ate two entire pieces of cheesecake and didn't feel even a little bit bad about myself. Now that is just a miracle.

The food is flavourful and not overly oily, which I've found to be problem with a lot of other raw food i've eaten. In particular, I definitely recommend Carters Sprouted Bread, that stuff is good.

Breakfast is available from 8am so it is a great place to stop in and pick up a bite before work and their full all-day cabinet food makes it prime for a lunchtime return. The Unbakery itself is cosy with warm lighting and shelves displaying all of the Little Bird Organic range, which is just as good as the cafe offering.

So, if you are after the most guilt free and dietary friendly meal in Auckland, this is the place for it. My only issue with Little Bird Unbakery is that it's not right next door to my house.
